About Aspect: Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect) is Australia's largest national service provider for people on the autism spectrum. Aspect services include education, individual and community programs, diagnostic assessments, therapy and research. With approximately 1,500 staff and over 6,000 students and participants across multiple sites Aspect works in partnership with people of all ages on the autism spectrum, and their families to deliver evidence-informed solutions that are person-centred, family-focused and customer driven.

About the team:  The People team, which includes Human Resources, Recruitment, Payroll, Learning & Development and Diversity and Inclusion, partner with the organisation to deliver effective people management and payroll solutions that add value and respond to changing business needs.

About the role: To provide strategic leadership and oversee operational responsibility for HR, Recruitment, Learning & Development, Diversity and Inclusion and Payroll. Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Executive and Management Network to ensure the People systems and processes support the delivery of excellent services
  • Lead the continuous improvement of the People systems and processes
  • Support the Chief Operating Officer to engage strategically with the Board and Board Committees and provide advice on mitigating/managing IR and ER risks at Board and Executive level
  • Drive cultural change to strengthen staff engagement and achieve Aspect’s mission

Skills, experience and qualifications:

  • Degree or post graduate qualifications in HR or relevant discipline
  • Significant leadership experience in People & Culture portfolios in a similar size and/or type of organisation.
  • Experience in a diversified organisation/industry sectors with experience in a not-for-profit, disability or education sectors an advantage
  • Proven ability to influence senior management and increase the profile of HR within an organisation
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully innovating and leading change
  • Ability to quickly build trust and communicate effectively across all levels of an organisation
  • Ability to quickly read and analyse situations, identify and focus on critical business issues
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to assess what is important to stakeholders, staff, clients and management and deliver on actions
  • A NSW Working With Children Check for paid employment 
  • Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel as required

A National Police Check clearance is a requirement and Aspect will arrange this. Completion of the mandatory NDIS Worker Orientation Module ‘Quality, Safety and You’ is also required. If you have not already completed the module, click here to access it.
