Aspect's School Network: Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect) has grown to become Australia's largest national educational program for children on the autism spectrum, with 9 independent schools operating from 67 locations in NSW and South Australia catering to approximately 1,200 students. Aspect is looking for passionate, enthusiastic and flexible teachers to work as members of person-centered multi-disciplinary teams. 

 What you will do: In collaboration with the Principal and other members of the leadership team, the Coordinator 3 will provide educational leadership in the school and community. The Coordinator will lead and collaborate on the delivery of high-quality education, with a team of specialists including teachers, teacher's aides, school therapists, coordinators, administrators and other Aspect staff.  You will use a student-centred and family-focused approach to ensure the delivery of quality educational standards. Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead on high quality implementation of the NSW Curriculum and inclusive practices across the school to address specific individual needs
  • Develop and foster effective working relationships with and between colleagues
  • Work with the Principal to lead the implementation of the School Improvement Plan
  • Plan, lead and support the Education team to provide the highest quality education to students
  • Provide regular coaching, support and development to staff team to improve practice
  • Develop knowledge and practice from other professionals in collaboration with the school's Leadership and Therapy Team
  • Leading other whole school initiatives, events, programs and activities as required

 What we are looking for:

  • An active instructional leader for staff who has a deep understanding of the curriculum, curriculum delivery and student behaviour
  • A highly reflective leader with the capacity to lead in challenging situations
  • Well developed emotional intelligence that can adapt to a fast paced and rewarding work environment
  • A leader that thrives working with students with autism
  • A candidate available to work full time (38 hrs per week)
  • Recognised teaching qualifications as determined by NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)
  • Proven ability to collaborate and build effective and positive working relationships with others
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to use effective change management strategies
  • Professional knowledge and demonstrated leadership experience of improving teaching practice that results in improved educational outcomes for students
  • Experience in developing and applying curriculum for students on the autism spectrum or neurodiversity preferred
  • NSW Working with Children Check for paid employment

What we offer:

Full time base salary between $78 -114k (depending on qualifications & experience) + $3392 special ed allowance + Coordinator 3 Allowance $27,377 + superannuation
