  • Base salary between $78,000 -114,000k (depending on qualifications & experience) + $3,392 special education allowance + $9,124 coordinator allowance + superannuation
  • Small class sizes with SSO for each class
  • Located at Aspect Treetop School, Ashford SA or at one of the satellite classes in the region

What you will do: You will collaborate with a team of specialists including teachers, teacher's aides, school therapists, coordinators, administrators and other Aspect staff to deliver our evidence-informed, student focused autism-specific approach - the Aspect Comprehensive Approach [ACA]. Use a person-centred and family-focused approach to ensure the delivery of quality educational standards. As a core member of the school's Learning Support Team (LST), you will lead and supervise the teaching team and partner with parents, carers and other members of the school community. About the School:

Aspect Treetop School provides placement for up to 85 students on the autism spectrum. The school caters for all abilities across the spectrum for students from Reception to Year 10.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and support staff to develop and implement an Individual Plan (IP) for each student
  • Recruit, induct and train staff and provide ongoing support and supervision
  • Manage staff operational issues and support Principal with performance management
  • Assist Principal with daily operational running of the school
  • Develop knowledge/practice from other professionals in collaboration with the school's LST
  • Develop and maintain positive and effective working relationships with staff/colleagues
  • Coordinate school events, programs and activities as required

What we are looking for:

  • To provide for consistency of support across classes
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with others including building capability in staff
  • Experience working with students on the autism spectrum
  • Experience in developing IP's and curriculum for students on the autism spectrum preferred
  • Recognised University or Tertiary teaching qualifications (as determined by the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia)
  • Special Education qualification/s are preferred
  • Current South Australian Working With Children Check OR Child-Related Employment Assessment (DCSI)
  • Reporting to Abuse and Neglect (RAN) certificate
  • Valid South Australian Driver's License
  • You may be required to provide an international police clearance
